| | RE: How to fix Windows Live Messenger error code 80072745 The most simple thing I found out worked was the following: Exit messenger (done completely, as in from bottom right), then launch the program again. For the MS troubleshooters and patchmakers: This seems to come after a reboot, or after coming back from hibernation (rarely on reboot, nearly always from hibernation). However the repair-connection utility finds no errors and will give no resolve, when pushing "repair". Hope it helps and that a resolve will be found quickly Regards "fubar169" wrote: Quote: > can you do a step by step because that ment nothing to me.. i cant find > Netgear router config on the pc but i am with netgear. > > plz make it simple |

| | Re: How to fix Windows Live Messenger error code 80072745 Greetings, What's amusing is how often said procedure fixes voice/video problems too. Although it's usually due to Messenger doing some clean-up its ports and re-establishing them. The "Repair" button to the best of my knowledge only repairs one thing (sorry, off hand I can't remember what it is) -- it's generally just a retry button really. -- Jonathan Kay Microsoft MVP - Windows Live Messenger MSN Messenger/Windows Messenger MessengerGeek Blog: http://www.messengergeek.com Messenger Resources: http://messenger.jonathankay.com (c) 2008 Jonathan Kay - If redistributing, you must include this signature or citation -- "Kappelgaard" <Kappelgaard@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:1D72F11C-C918-4295-B0A7-BAB93D45E204@xxxxxx Quote: > The most simple thing I found out worked was the following: > Exit messenger (done completely, as in from bottom right), then launch the > program again. > > For the MS troubleshooters and patchmakers: This seems to come after a > reboot, or after coming back from hibernation (rarely on reboot, nearly > always from hibernation). > However the repair-connection utility finds no errors and will give no > resolve, when pushing "repair". > > Hope it helps and that a resolve will be found quickly > > Regards > > "fubar169" wrote: > Quote: >> can you do a step by step because that ment nothing to me.. i cant find >> Netgear router config on the pc but i am with netgear. >> >> plz make it simple |

| | SOLUTION: How to fix Windows Live Messenger error code 80072745 In the end I found that it's a compatibility problem with certain anti-virus software and certain routers. The way to solve this, without playing around with routers settings, is to UNINSTALL the anti-virus software completely (switching the AV off will not work), reboot without any anti-virus software, and see if your Live MSN Messenger work. You should find that it logs in without any problem. If that is the case, use another anti-virus software. | | RE: How to fix Windows Live Messenger error code 80072745 hi, to connect to your router, it is usually 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.0. to fix this, i went into: FIREWALL RULES, then enabled 'close IM ports' pressed apply, then re enabled 'open IM ports' then pressed apply. or you can try restarting your router. (i'm using a netgear DG834N) Instant Messaging (IM) Ports Close IM Ports (x) Open IM Ports(IM ports are open by default) (x) |
