English Messenger, Chinese/ Japanese Games?! Help please...

Heya I have a full windows live messenger 2008 running on my laptop,
everything is in english apart from my games (and the advertisement bit at
the bottom)?! It looks like some Chinese/ Japanese/ some Asian typing.. I
opened my hotmail account when I was living in Hongkong could that be the
issue? Its not a huge problem but would be nice to understand what's going on
(and win some games!)

Greetings,

This is because these features in Messenger are localized depending on the locale/country set
in your Windows Live ID and not what language version of Messenger you're using (or Windows).

You can change your locale here:

Yeahhh it works!!!! Every bit of my messenger is in English now!!!
