Vista - Mobile alerts for new messages

I started getting text alerts to new email in my hotmail account. Since 90%
of it is junk...I don't want this feature. How do I turn it off.
It would help if I knew how I turned it on I know.
Is it my phone or my hotmail account?
I have a verizon phone

"You can specify exactly which emails you receive Hotmail SMS alerts for.
Once Hotmail SMS has been set up you can change your alert settings from your
Hotmail account on your computer. From your Hotmail inbox simply select
"Options" in the top right corner, then "More options" at the bottom of the
list and then select "Mobile alerts for new messages". You can then choose
the alert setting most appropriate for you from the options provided."

I had the same problem & this worked for me! You have to do it online, not
from the windows live desktop.
