Issue when creating Messenger Add-in - request for permission failed

The following message shown when my add-in access Internet(XML file on the
Internet):

Request for the permission of type 'System.Net.WebPermission,
System, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral,
PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' failed.

Any idea to grant the permission please?

Re: Issue when creating Messenger Add-in - request for permission failed

Greetings Elliot,

The Add-in support is supposedly going to be dropped, so I wouldn't spend too much time
developing for this.

One of the reasons it wasnˇ¦t successful is the sandbox is forced everyone to work in, which
is what you're encountering.

Oh, what a pity!
Do you know if it will disappear in Windows Live Messenger 9.0?

Hi Elliot,

I have helped beta Live Messenger 9.0 and I can confirm the Addins feature has been dropped completely...

If you would like to use scripts or other functions checkout Messenger Live Plus

Re: Issue when creating Messenger Add-in - request for permission failed

Even I use the current method of adding a value in Registry?
Any other option except using Messenger Plus?

Hey Elliot,

Sorry, adding the registry key will have no effect because the entire Addins feature in all future versions of Messenger has been removed forever

Messenger Plus has the only easy scripting environment for Messenger available minus using the MessengerAPI but then you would need to write your own application to take advantage of that API.

Re: Issue when creating Messenger Add-in - request for permission failed

Then suggested when will WLM9.0 be available for d/l?
3rd party program(waste resources) is less considerable.

Was the date range announced/leaked, or you know that privately?
