| | Windows Live Messenger account fails to log in Hi, It is like 1 month I am experiencing difficulty with loging on my account anangel@xxxxxx on Windows Live Messenger. I spent like 1-2 days just looking for possible solutions on the web. I found a lot advices but non worked (registry change, reinstall, delete history, cookies, password change...). I can log in on web based windows live messanger and other Live services. I have up to date genuine Windows XP SP3 protected by AVG antivirus. Today I created new account just to try if I can log in with it and I can. Is my old account corrupted? Is there any possible solution? I really dont need my old account, I can use new one. Is trere any way to transfer my contat list from old account to new one? thanks johnny |

| | Re: Windows Live Messenger account fails to log in Greetings, Since you've gone through a lot already I just have one simple test for you to try that will provide a bit of insight. Could you make a new Windows account, then login to that account and then try Messenger on your normal Live ID there? If it works there, then we know it's a problem within your Windows profile. -- Jonathan Kay Microsoft MVP - Windows Live Messenger MSN Messenger/Windows Messenger MessengerGeek Blog: http://www.messengergeek.com Messenger Resources: http://messenger.jonathankay.com (c) 2008 Jonathan Kay - If redistributing, you must include this signature or citation -- "johnnytheb0y" <johnnytheb0y@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:BFBED246-A17A-4E23-A62F-22E7B746C793@xxxxxx Quote: > Hi, > > It is like 1 month I am experiencing difficulty with loging on my account > anangel@xxxxxx on Windows Live Messenger. | | Re: Windows Live Messenger account fails to log in Hello, Thanks for your quick reply. I tried, what you have told me, but my old account still didnt work. So I guess it is not a problem of my Windows account. Btw. Even if I let Windows Live Messenger to try to log in for hours, still no error message appears. AND If I go to options and connection, it tells me: you are succesfully signed to MSN network (or something like that (got different language version and dont know what english version says precisely)). I also found, that I seem to be logged on properly for my friends in their messengers even though my messenger still appears to be "singning in" to me. When they try to to send me a message, I receive error message: "Your message could not be delivered". Those friends who try to send me a message wont get noticed that the message isnt delivered (due to me still signing in). I know that it looks wierd xd If there was a way how to get my friends from my old contact list to my ne Live ID, I woundnt need my old account. Thanks for your kind help, johnny "Jonathan Kay [MVP]" wrote: Quote: > Greetings, > > Since you've gone through a lot already I just have one simple test for you to try that will > provide a bit of insight. | | Re: Windows Live Messenger account fails to log in Hi, My messenger acts the same. See my posting from 6/23/08 but based on your info I can expand a little to help Microsoft out. If I bring up the messenger window and have not tried to sign on yet and go to tools/options/connection the status is "you are currently not connected to .NET Messenger Service. "you are connected to the internet through wired network connection. Ok if I now go to sign on I enter the password and end up with the constantly twirling icons. If I click on tools/options/connection while the icons are twirling I get "You are directly connected to .NET Messenger Service" "You are connected to the internet through wired network connection" and the icons continue to twirl and I cannot really log on and use the service. As noted in my other post; friends can see me and I show as online when I am really not functional. I also get messages the so an so has tried to contact you but the system cannot connect. This seems to be a wide spread problem only people are opening up multiple reports with slightly different names "johnnytheb0y" wrote: Quote: > Hello, > > Thanks for your quick reply. | | Re: Windows Live Messenger account fails to log in I also have the same problem, with Vista 64. I never was able to make live messenger to work on a new vista 64 installation. It simply sit there and can't login to my hotmail account. It even say that the service in not available and to try later. I know that the service work, since Trillian was connecting very well.. SO the best thing to do is to forget about this lame thing and choose another messenger like Trillian which will connect very well to the msn network. If microsoft is not able to make something that work, we simply forget it and try something else. Just like Vista, the whole thing is a mess and even the best Microsoft technician can't repair these things so don't expect that you will. As you can see here, there are no real answer as to why Live messenger won't work as supposed to, nobody knows.. Strangely, EVERY other type of similar software work very well. |
