Vista - Can't sign in to Live Messenger

When I try to sign into messenger I get twirling icons for hours on end. Have
posted before but no replys. Trouble will clear for a while. Then the next
day when I try to log in back to twirling icons. This is now the 7th day
fighting this problem. Windows vista. Live messenger 2008. msn is browser
home page and sign is no problem.

Bought new microsoft cam/mike to be sure of compatibility. more transmission
problems are encountered on those occasions when I can get logged in but
those are separate problems.

need consistent log in first. not a 1 to 16 hour delay
