| | How do you gain access to custom emoticons? A friend of mine had a emoticon for their question mark that i liked so i added by right clicking on it and selecting add. But now i want to edit it so that looks like this ¿ but i don't know how to get to just that image. I've tried taking a screen capture of it but i can't get the transparency to work right. I've also tried to just click and drag it right from messenger to the image editor but then it gets really small and pixelated. So basically i was just wondering if there was a way to get to that image without having the original. thanks for any help you can offer. |

| | Re: How do you gain access to custom emoticons? Greetings, You can get to the original icon by going here: On XP: \Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Messenger\LiveID\ObjectStore\CustomEmoticons. and on Vista: \Users\username\Appdata\Local\Microsoft\Messenger\LiveID\ObjectStore\CustomEmoticons Where username is your Windows username and LiveID is your Windows Live ID e-mail address. Additionally, some of these folders will be hidden by default, to see them simply press the Alt key on the keyboard in any Windows Explorer window to bring up the toolbar, click Tools, then Folder Options, then the View tab, and then choose 'Show hidden files and folders'. After click OK, they should appear with the other folders. The files themselves will be PNGs or GIFs, but to actually find the one you're looking for, just open up Internet Explorer and drag the files to the IE window to locate the emoticon you're after. You can then copy it over, rename it and edit it in the graphics application of your choice. -- Jonathan Kay Microsoft MVP - Windows Live Messenger MSN Messenger/Windows Messenger MessengerGeek Blog: http://www.messengergeek.com Messenger Resources: http://messenger.jonathankay.com (c) 2008 Jonathan Kay - If redistributing, you must include this signature or citation -- "emo_toaster" <emo_toaster@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:62F9ABF0-F51F-445B-AE1E-23C710BB5884@xxxxxx Quote: > A friend of mine had a emoticon for their question mark that i liked so i > added by right clicking on it and selecting add.
