Vista - WLM keeps signing me out

Every 2 minutes or so Windows Live Messenger keeps signing me out for no
apparent reason. I have tried changing the settings on Zone Alarm, my
firewall, and even turning it off completely, so I know for sure that it is
not a firewall causing the problem.
I have also tried re-installing/repairing the program, and even completely
removing it from my computer then downloading it again.
No error messages appear; WLM just signs out of its own accord and leaves me
with the screen saying that it will reconnect in a certain time.
This happens on both Windows Live 8 and 8.1

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have been having the same problem and have been for quite some time. it is
rather frustrating when trying to hold a conversation, whether it be for
business or personal. Any help would be appreciated.

Solution (1)
shut down Windows Live Messenger.

Click Start
Click Run
Enter: %appdata%\microsoft
Click OK.

Then right click the MSN Messenger folders, choose Delete, and then confirm the operation.Remember to clear your recycle bin too.

Solution (2)
Click Tools > Options > Privacy
Untick the TICK in the box "ONLY PEOPLE ON MY ALLOW LIST CAN SEE MY STATUS AND SEND ME MESSAGES"

Solution (3)

1) Click Start, click Run, type gpedit.msc, and then press ENTER

2) Double-click the following items to expand them:

Local Computer Policy

Computer Configuration

Administrative Templates

Windows Components

Windows Messenger

3) Double-click on the option "Do not allow Windows Messenger to run", and then click Enabled.

4) Click OK, and then close the window

Solution (4)

Click Start, then Run, and enter the following:
regsvr32 softpub.dll
( remember the space after 32)
