Vista - My contact appears offline when really she is online

My contact appears offline when really she is online

Please help me..my gf lives in UK and when we used MSN IM we could talk on
cam and mic and all of the sudden i appear offline to her and she appears
offline to me when really both of us are online...please help..today she was
"online" again yet my msn im showed her as offline and we cant talk

Greetings,

This could be a whole bunch of reasons for this happening, some possibly controllable and
some not.

What I suggest you do, at least to test and a possible workaround, is just to use Skype
instead for voice capability.

explain what reasons are there for this happening? i just dont understand

Hi,

Problems with UPnP, router firmware, software and hardware firewalls, transparent proxy
setups from ISPs, etc. I could go on for ages but it's not really worth either of our time.

Hi, so you are saying to get another way to chat with people on your contact
list? I've never had this problem before until recently. Now I'm never sure
if I am online or offline to the people on my list. Is there no way to
correct this issue?
