Vista - messenger window

i cant see the typed message on the window when i im, or see the response
from the other person, if i use personal handwriting i can see that or
emoticons

What happens if you highlight (select and drag with the mouse) the text that isn't showing
up -- do you see it then?

So just to be clear you're seeing something like this:

I have the same problem....MSN messenger worked fine one day and the next it
did not. I can only see what I am typing and it shows nothing once I hit the
enter key. What can I do to see what I typed as well as what the other
person I am typing to is saying? It is a pain as I use the computer alot for
work and all my co-workers use msn as well to communicate with each other.
