Hi Don,
When installing any program, where you have problems, use the clean
install method.
Clean Install:
First, using Explore, manually delete all files and sub-folders of your
\Temp Folders. You need to view Hidden Files and folders.
When done, run Disk Cleanup. Schedule a Chkdsk to run at boot. Both
options, desired but normally the first option checked.
Now use msconfig. Dot Selective Startup. Uncheck Load Startup Items.
Click Services. Hide All Microsoft Services then click Disable All. Click
Apply then OK. Restart the Computer.
When done Chkdsk, computer reboots and then go back to msconfig. Dot
Normal Startup. Click Apply then OK. Exit without a restart. Now install
Windows Live Messenger. Reboot the computer.
