| | change the color of personal message Is [c=#278383]personal message[/c] valid only for the computers that installed MSN Plus to view? Is there any method to make the change of a personal message's color visible, provided others' computer having not any 3rd party program installed? |

| | RE: change the color of personal message Unfortunately no, there is no way of customising your personal message when displayed on anothers computer without them having a 3rd party application installed such as MSN Plus. | | Re: change the color of personal message Hi, Not to be anal, but for those searching, the product is called Messenger Plus Live. "MSN Plus" was a tier of the MSN internet service (now MSN Premium), but it's still in the documentation and causes confusion. -- Jonathan Kay Microsoft MVP - Windows Live Messenger MSN Messenger/Windows Messenger MessengerGeek Blog: http://www.messengergeek.com Messenger Resources: http://messenger.jonathankay.com (c) 2008 Jonathan Kay - If redistributing, you must include this signature or citation -- "Oliver J Brown" <OliverJBrown@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:09C0677C-AC90-4F0A-A751-CAA50D9D907C@xxxxxx Quote: > Unfortunately no, there is no way of customising your personal message when > displayed on anothers computer without them having a 3rd party application > installed such as MSN Plus. > > "Elliot" wrote: > Quote: >> Is [c=#278383]personal message[/c] valid only for the computers that >> installed MSN Plus to view? >> Is there any method to make the change of a personal message's color >> visible, provided others' computer having not any 3rd party program >> installed? >> >> |

| | Re: change the color of personal message I find that the converstation messages sent that colored using Messenger Plus(the one not using code) take effect to my contacts who have not installed it. Do you have any idea about the algorithm it uses? | | Re: change the color of personal message If you're not using "the code" ([b]), then I assume you mean the updated colour selection box that allows you to choose more colours. There's no magic here, the protocol allows the colour value expressed as hex BGR (blue, green, red). So, the reverse of HTML's RGB. Messenger itself takes any colour value, it's just the default UI that doesn't let you. -- Jonathan Kay Microsoft MVP - Windows Live Messenger MSN Messenger/Windows Messenger MessengerGeek Blog: http://www.messengergeek.com Messenger Resources: http://messenger.jonathankay.com (c) 2008 Jonathan Kay - If redistributing, you must include this signature or citation -- "Elliot" <elliot_barclay@xxxxxx> wrote in message news 271BF8C-0298-4973-BA0A-14D8E6A9E8DA@xxxxxxQuote: > I find that the converstation messages sent that colored using Messenger Plus(the one not > using code) take effect to my contacts who have not installed it.
