Media Center (2005) was unable to open Messenge...

My platform is windows xp media edition 2005.... Up untill recently windows
live messenger worked(connected) when I opened media center to watch tv....
Now I receive a message stateing that "Media Center was unable to open
Messenger, please make sure windows messenger is installed .... I have both
programs on my computer and have made no changes to them... I tried
uninstalling and re-installing twice . but with no luck..... Do you have any
suggestions.....

I'm on the same platform and get the same message. Last major event was to install SP3. Now copying to a DVD is sporadic also.

Every time I start media center I get "messenger failure".
just started recently, don't know why. Media center works but lags at start
up untill message disappears. Any suggestions?
