Webcam shows pitch black picture.

have a Sony Vaio Laptop. (VGN-AR350E)
My camera works fine offline.
Takes pictures.
Records video.

But for some reason whenever I use either Yahoo or MSN Messenger to broadcast the webcam the picture comes out pitch black.

I have tried reinstalling the needed drivers to fix this issue and went as far as doing a System Recovery and still I have this problem.

So if anyone has had similar problems or have a few suggestions, please reply to this. Thanks!

Yes, I've downloaded every update Sony has on their site for the in-built webcam.

Re: Webcam shows pitch black picture.

Greetings,

What exactly happens when you go through the setup wizard? To get there, open up a Messenger
window, press Alt on the keyboard to bring up the menu bar, choose Tools and then Audio and
video setup.
