Vista - can't run WLM when connected to the internet

when i disconnect the internet connection, WLM window pops out and I am able
to access the sign in button, or open WLM from tray.

whenever I reconnect to the internet, WLM is not accessible and the window
disappears.

I might have a file that is preventing access to WLM when connected to the
internet...

anyone?

Do you have a router on this network (or does the modem itself work as a router)? If so, try
resetting it by unplugging it and plugging it back in.

Failing that, you may want to look and see if there is a firmware update from the device's
manufacturer that may help the problem and/or you may want to reset the device to factory
defaults.

Failing all that, you may want to see if there is a web-based configuration to turn off UPnP
(Universal Plug and Play). This will limit you in some ways connectivity-wise (you may not
be able to establish direct file transfers, webcam, etc.) but this is probably the reason why
you're seeing not function when you're connected.
