Trouble adding a contact with a Yahoo email addy

Hi.

I added a new contact to my Windows Live Messenger earlier and we were
chatting. I lost power here, and when it came back on, I relogged in Windows
Messenger and the contact was gone.

When I tried to re-enter their email address to add them again, it said this
person has to have a .net passport account. This was strange because we were
talking earlier just fine. What happened? I don't want to make them have to
sign up with MSN to chat with me and I don't want to use Yahoo messenger.

Any help is appreciated.

Re: Trouble adding a contact with a Yahoo email addy

Greetings,

The Yahoo interoptability isn't that reliable and is frequently down or malfunctioning. That
said, I suggest you just try again.

Also, just to double-check, the format for adding a yahoo contact is YahooID@xxxxxx.
