| | downloading windows live messenger For some reason it won't allow me to download windows live messenger. I uninstalled it after having a ridiculous number of problems signing in and now it won't even let me download it. It gets to the stage where it checks your computer for something (can't remember what) and it suddenly stops and says that they couldn't install programmes. I have a new computer and had problems with messenger on my old computer. I connect to the internet through a university system but no one else has this problem- I have been to see them about it but there is nothing they can do. I just want to be able to use messenger again. I have tried downloading several different versions and none of them work. What could the problem be? |

| | Re: downloading windows live messenger Dear Mr. Kay: That did not work for me until I ran Windows Install Clean Up. I got that to fix a problem I had before. I am pretty sure she will not find that unless you can giver her a link to it. I have another question. Can you give me a link to a place where I can download a copy of Windows Live Mail WITHOUT GETTING Windows Live Messenger 9 at the same time? If you do I will be forever in your debt, I have been looking for three days now with no luck. Thanks Roger Post "Jonathan Kay [MVP]" wrote: Quote: > Greetings, > > Try direct from the Microsoft Installer file and see if that gives you better luck: > http://messenger.jonathankay.com/redir/wlm85.asp > > -- > Jonathan Kay > Microsoft MVP - Windows Live Messenger > MSN Messenger/Windows Messenger > MessengerGeek Blog: http://www.messengergeek.com > Messenger Resources: http://messenger.jonathankay.com > (c) 2008 Jonathan Kay - If redistributing, you must include this signature or citation > -- > > > "angieisanangel" <angieisanangel@xxxxxx> wrote in message > news:67E80D6E-E0D3-45D2-81A3-B0412D87FD01@xxxxxx Quote: > > For some reason it won't allow me to download windows live messenger. | | Re: downloading windows live messenger No I want Windows Live MAIL not messenger. I have Messenger V. 8.5 and that is the one I want. I know that this is not a MAIL group but I thought maybe you could help me as I do not want Messenger V.9 until it has been refined a little more. As for the version of MAIL I do not care the version I downloaded the other day seemed to work well if I can get it with out messenger 9 but the older one worked well also "Jonathan Kay [MVP]" wrote: Quote: > Greetings, > > Just to be clear, do you mean the latest Windows Live Messenger (wave 3) beta Live Mail, or > the standard "current release" one? > > -- > Jonathan Kay > Microsoft MVP - Windows Live Messenger > MSN Messenger/Windows Messenger > MessengerGeek Blog: http://www.messengergeek.com > Messenger Resources: http://messenger.jonathankay.com > (c) 2008 Jonathan Kay - If redistributing, you must include this signature or citation > -- > > > "rogerpost" <rogerpost@xxxxxx> wrote in message > news:B2FE2A73-3BD1-4872-B40A-63CC08E03E61@xxxxxx Quote: > > Dear Mr. Kay: > > That did not work for me until I ran Windows Install Clean Up. | | Re: downloading windows live messenger Hi that worked- didn't seem to at first but when i next turned on my computer messenger was on it and it has worked for the last couple of days however I lost my connection when I was on windows live messenger today and when I tried to sign back in I got the error message 80072745. This is an error message I use to get and the reason I initally removed messenger from my laptop. I have spoken to my administrator (I am on a University network) and no one else has this problem. Why does it keep happening?
