| | webcam connection problem I am trying to connect up with my daughter's laptop at university and to share webcams. She can see my webcam when i send it to her but when she tries to send me her it goes through connecting then appears to time out and I get the message that she has terminated the connection. we have checked firewall settings etc and they seem to be identical on both her and my laptop. I can't understand why messenger can negotiate a connection from me to her but not the other way round? any ideas Iain |

| | RE: webcam connection problem Hi.I,ve had that problem time to time.If you are useing messenger. What i do is instead of calling from the top tool bar it seems to have more problems.I get the contact page lined up with the two of our video screens on it by clicking on the name in the messenger. Then the little camera icon on the bottom of my picture.Click and go to start video call. That seems to be the best link.Because what happens to me is we get hooked up from the top bar theres no sound.Or there is no video then when you try to hook up it cuts off. Then the real problems start. They try to call,i,m trying to call.Hang up one link theres still two more that you can,t see.We hook up again. No sound. Then you notice the other link.Turn it off. Then they see another link.Turn it off.Blank.GRRRRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.So now when they call i type them to shut the whole messenger off.Restart.But before you go type which one is going to call.Eventually once you are just about to go right off the deep end its all good.By that time we both need a drink and a little therapy. But seems to work. For me anyhoo.Sorry to ramble.I get all worked up thinking about it.Think i need a drink.lol.Hope that helps.Good luck.TERRY.
