| | How do I get rid of this annoying pop up thing from microsoft? I get this "Windows security alert" pop up saying Windows firewall has detected a Win 32 Trojan Horse and when I check it out the thing is an ad for a company called "Smart Soft" trying to sell me their virus protection. How do I stop this thing from popping up? I suspect this company has somehow hitched themselves to the windows instant messaging system somehow. Since I never use this windows messaging system for anything I would like to delete it competely or if I can't do that I would like to just block this thing from popping up. I have went into control panel, performance and maintenance etc. and selected disable but it doesn't seem to help. Any ideas? Thanks. |

I would download Avast free home edition, install , update and do a full scan. FREE avast! antivirus 4.x Home Edition, anti-spyware & anti-rootkit for Windows Afterwards, scan again with a-squared 3.5 free , from a-squared Free (formerly a² free) Freeware! A2 is a free of charge Anti-Trojan, Anti-Worm, Anti-Dialer and Anti-Spyware Software - optimal protection What kind of anti malware are you using currently? A quick google revealed this : http://www.mydigitallife.info/2008/0...nzlob-and-etc/ Hope it helps SIW2 |
