How do I get rid of this annoying pop up thing from microsoft?

I get this "Windows security alert" pop up saying Windows firewall has
detected a Win 32 Trojan
Horse and when I check it out the thing is an ad for a company called
"Smart Soft" trying to
sell me their virus protection.

How do I stop this thing from popping up? I suspect this company
has somehow hitched themselves to the windows instant messaging system
somehow.

Since I never use this windows messaging system for anything I would
like to delete it competely or if I can't do that I would like to just
block this thing from popping up.

I have went into control panel, performance and maintenance etc. and
selected disable but
it doesn't seem to help. Any ideas? Thanks.

Hi,

Suggest you don't download whatever product that is pushing.

I would download Avast free home edition, install , update and do a full scan.

FREE avast! antivirus 4.x Home Edition, anti-spyware & anti-rootkit for Windows

Afterwards, scan again with a-squared 3.5 free , from

a-squared Free (formerly a² free) Freeware! A2 is a free of charge Anti-Trojan, Anti-Worm, Anti-Dialer and Anti-Spyware Software - optimal protection

What kind of anti malware are you using currently?

A quick google revealed this :

Hope it helps
