Added Contact Not Showing Up On List

Tried to add a friend with a Hotmail account to Windows Live Messenger Beta
through "Add a contact", I followed the steps to the end and clicked on "Add
contact and send invitation".

But when I looked on the contact list, the name wasn't there. I thought I
did something wrong (like mistype the email address), so I did it again, and
got the message "You have previously added a contact who uses this instant
messging address. A contact's instant messging address should be unique".

I tried adding another friend who had a Hotmail address earlier, and it
showed up on the contact list. For some reason, this one doesn't. I know she
wasn't online to accept it or not, because she told me she hardly checks her
email. All other I've added show up.

Anyone had this problem and know how to solve it? Any help would be greatly
appreciated.

Re: Added Contact Not Showing Up On List

Hi nyc79,

Can you try a couple things?

1. Use the word wheel to search for your contact in Messenger. If your
contact shows up, edit the contact and make sure the Instant Messaging
Address is filled in on the General section.

2. Or, go to Hotmail and see if your contact shows up there. If so, make
sure to check the box to Use this Contact with Windows Live Messenger.

Hope this helps.
