Re: windows live messenger beta

Greetings,

You can manually uninstall Messenger by clicking Start, then Run (if not using Vista),
inputing the following and hitting enter:
msiexec /x {B1403D7D-C725-4858-AACC-7E5FA2D72859}

You can find the other IDs for the other parts of the latest beta applications here on my
blog:

Re: windows live messenger beta

I input the code and this message appears:

"Windows cannot find 'msiexec/x-{B1403D7D-C725-4858-AACC-7E5FA2D72859}'.
Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a
file, click the Start button, and then click Search."

That because you entered it incorrectly. There's a space between the msiexec and /x and no - after the x so it should look like this: msiexec /x {

Re: windows live messenger beta

I uninstalled windows live messenger beta. Then I downloaded another one,
intalled it. In the window that appears after the installation is done it
says:

"Start any new program from here, or from the Windows Start menu."

I am unable to start windows live messenger from the window or even the
start menu.

Re: windows live messenger beta

A message appears saying "This action is only valid for products that are
currently installed". However, when I try to install an older version, it
says I first have to remove Windows Live Messenger...

Initially, the problem was that Windows Live was noy listed in the AddRemove
programs list. So I sent to the Recycle Bin the Windows Live folder to see if
I could install an older version. But still couldn´t. So I deleted the
msnmsr(or similar).exe but this did not solve the problem. I restored the
other files but now I can´t use msn and can´t install any other version.

Re: windows live messenger beta

Problem solved. I downloaded the latest version I could find, which was
luckily newer than the quite new version I apparently had, and I could then
uninstall it following the above instructions.
