Vista - Display Alerts when e-mail is received stop working at sign in

The display alerts when e-mail is received notificaion stop working when i
sign in to windows live messenger. When I sign the display alert for e-mail
is not showing anymore. If I go to options-> alerts then if i disable the
dispay alerts when e-mail is received then enabled again sign out of
messenger then if i sign in again the display alerts when mail is received
works again but if i sign out again then sign in the display alerts when
e-mail is reveived stops working again.

messenger then if I sign in again the display alerts when mail is received
works again but if I sign out again then sign in once more the display
alerts when e-mail is received stops working again.
