Cannot uninstall Windows Live Messenger Beta 2009

Greetings,

I installed Windows Live Beta (Mail & Messenger)
When I found the bugs in messenger, I wanted to uninstall it & go back to the previous one. But when going to control panel and choosing uninstall windows live, it does not start as if nothing happened :S
any idea??

regards

Re: Cannot uninstall Windows Live Messenger Beta 2009

Greetings,

You can manually uninstall Messenger by clicking Start, then Run (if not using Vista),
inputing the following and hitting enter:
msiexec /x {B1403D7D-C725-4858-AACC-7E5FA2D72859}

You can find the other IDs for the other parts of the latest beta applications here on my
blog:

Re: Cannot uninstall Windows Live Messenger Beta 2009

Thanks for beta testing.

This may happen if you are not logged on as an administrator. If you are
logged on with a normal account, please try again as an admin. We will try
to be more explicit in our messaging around this scenario.

If you are logged in as an admin and still experience the issue, please
email me.

Thanks,

Here is a solution:
Download this smart tool Final Uninstaller. It's a good substitute for Windows Add/Remove program and can uninstall Windows Live Messenger with just a few click.

Use Final Uninstaller

A better solution is to find an uninstall tool online. I would recommend Final Uninstaller. It’s very easy to use and can uninstall Windows Live Messenger completely. Go to their website and download one: http://finaluninstaller.com/

Hope this helps.

Hi,
I have the same problem with login error 8000ffff vith WLM9 beta3, and after a couple of days of browsing i find that problem is with new contacts module, you must uninstall contacts Start>Run msiexec /x {C6BDA6E5-B391-4CE5-8D86-B53AC96FFE03}, then reintall only contacts module, take from here. http://messenger.jonathankay.com/redir/w3/contacts.asp

it works for me. Thanks to Jonathan Kay, MessengerGeek , there i found all uninstall strings and separated modules.
