| | I cant see Custom Emots in updated Live Messenger but recipients c I have just updated my messenger to the latest version of Windows Live Messenger (I was using an old version of MSN messenger beta before). I have a lot of custom emots; these are still appearing on my emot list, and when I use them the person I am sending messages to can see them, however I can't - all I see is a blank space! I have heard of this happening to other people but just cannot find out what the problem is or how to solve it. Can someone please help, its driving me mad!! Thanks :-) -- ducatidiva |

Would this mean I get the emots back? -- ducatidiva "David Frigolet [ES] ex vcd!" wrote: Quote: > Is a known bug. | | Re: I cant see Custom Emots in updated Live Messenger but recipien Greetings, The bug David is referring to is in the current beta version of Messenger (14.0.5027.908) and not the latest released version (8.5.1288). In the bug in question, instead of seeing the emoticon, you see the text of the emoticon, like [hello]. So to be clear, if you are not using this beta version then you are referring to something else not covered by that bug. -- Jonathan Kay Microsoft MVP - Windows Live Messenger MSN Messenger/Windows Messenger MessengerGeek Blog: http://www.messengergeek.com Messenger Resources: http://messenger.jonathankay.com (c) 2008 Jonathan Kay - If redistributing, you must include this signature or citation -- "ducatidiva" <ducatidiva@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:7D9BCDB3-388A-4E83-9064-4DDD3253A82A@xxxxxx Quote: > Thank you David, is it best to reinstall an older version until the new beta > version is available? | | Re: I cant see Custom Emots in updated Live Messenger but recipien Thanks Jonathan, it was the latest released version I believe, which I was made to upgrade and download as I was using a pretty old version of MSN Messenger beta. I dont see the text of the emots - when I type the emot text in I see it as I type but then as soon as I send it, the whole thing disappears. I can't see the emot or the emot text in the conversation window but the person I am messaging can see the emot itself. This same thing happened about 4 months ago on another PC I was using which had an up to date version of Live Messenger, but the problem resolved itself within a day. However this has been going on for 4-5 days now. Any ideas as to what it is and what I can do about it please? Thanks for your advice -- ducatidiva "Jonathan Kay [MVP]" wrote: Quote: > Greetings, > > The bug David is referring to is in the current beta version of Messenger (14.0.5027.908) and > not the latest released version (8.5.1288).
