OT question for jonathan

Hello, I am asking here because you must know the answer to this:

how can I become a beta tester for windows7?

Some say through the connect site, if you qualify... I dont understand what
that means.
How do you qualify or not, and I looked in the connect site and there was no
reference to windows7 yet.

thank you

Re: OT question for jonathan

Greetings Zane,

I'm not sure, I don't think it's too clear yet. But what was mentioned during the recent
public 7 announcements at PDC is that the public betas that anyone can download (as seen in
the past for Vista and XP) will continue. Although they'll just be major milestones.

Re: OT question for jonathan

no i mean a REAL beta tester that actually gets a free copy of the OS after
the beta is over if you file bug reports..

I was in the public beta of vista... but I want to become a real beta tester
of win7

Re: OT question for jonathan

Hi,

In the past, they've lifted a few people from the public betas into the private betas as an
entry point. There's no defined process for "getting in" as each beta is different, and in
the case of Windows 7, the beta hasn't even begun so who knows.
