| | Display picture location and Tabs? I would recommend that the messenger team take a good look at how the now dead Yahoo Messenger for Vista team designed the instant messaging window. Take a very good look. It's beautiful in how it puts all the focus on the text area. 1. The WLM instant messaging window is a disgusting waste of space mostly due to the display picture locations. First off, why do I need to see my own display picture. I already know what my display picture is from the main window. I don't need to see it in the messaging window. However, that's not the main problem because that can easily be hidden. The main problem is the location of the contact's display picture. Why do you have it to the left of the window taking up so much space? Look at how Yahoo Messenger for Visa has it. The display picture for the contact is OUT OF THE WAY and near the top left corner of the window. This gives all the space and FOCUS on the text. The way it's designed in WLM is a terrible waste of space. I want to be able to see the display picture but I don't want it taking up so much space. I don't see how the UI designers can't see this. It's incredibly obvious. 2. Why are there not tabbed messaging windows yet? You've had a year to develop this program and you can't even include one of the more oft requested and simplest of features? It's not like it would even have to be forced. Make it an option. This is just another obvious problem with WLM. |

| | Re: Display picture location and Tabs? Hi, 1. Maybe next version, who knows. 2. I could be wrong and I'm guessing here, but I think this got cut for now at least as it hasn't been mentioned anywhere for version 14/9.0/2009. It's interesting that since that Vista Yahoo version you speak of is now gone, Yahoo no longer has the tabbing feature either. But to be honest, I don't know anything really and could easily be wrong.
