| Vista Home basic | can't sign into windows live messenger beta hi, everybody. I can't sign into WLM beta, I get error code 8000ffff, saying the service is temporarily unavalaible. I've tried uninstalling it, downloading another WLM version, but nothing works. I'm desperate. Does anyone have any idea of what's going on? please help! |

| | Re: can't sign into windows live messenger beta Greetings, This error means that a component Messenger is looking for can't be loaded. In the case of this 2009 beta release, this typically means the Live Contacts infrastructure which is necessary for it to work and is a separate component. If you did a manual install (aka not the Live Suite installer), it means you missed installing this. You can always go ahead and install it now. The downloads and full list of what you need per component in the beta releases can be found on my blog here: http://messengergeek.spaces.live.com...BDA1!868.entry However since you're not even using the version anymore, which "other version" are you referring to? The other released versions of Messenger do not have this multiple component model and shouldn't be displaying this error. As such I expect you're seeing something else on this other version. If you could be more specific as to what's happening, that would be great. -- Jonathan Kay Microsoft MVP - Windows Live Messenger MSN Messenger/Windows Messenger MessengerGeek Blog: http://www.messengergeek.com Messenger Resources: http://messenger.jonathankay.com (c) 2008 Jonathan Kay - If redistributing, you must include this signature or citation -- "katiagnr" <guest@xxxxxx-email.com> wrote in message news:0cc9ab4dd59e660331eb74119963e0ef@xxxxxx-gateway.com...
