Windows Live Messenger Loading Problem

I have just completed a reboot of my computer. I then tried to go on Windows Live Messenger but every time I try to load it up an error message appears stating: ['Traceback (most recent call last):\n',' File "c:\\pyagcore\\pyagcore/__init__.py", line 3, in <module> \n,',ImportError: No module named shell\n']
I'm not sure if it is an error because its title is pyagcore.search.searchdetection.
I've already tried reinstalling it and repairing it but no success.

I think it might have something to do with internet explorer because at the moment it isn't working either.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: I have just recently got internet explorer working but messenger still isn't.

Re: Windows Live Messenger Loading Problem

Greetings,

Messenger uses the same interfaces that IE uses to make connections, detect proxy settings,
and several other components like the advertisement window. As such, Messenger is rather
dependent on a working Internet Explorer.

However, what you're describing in this case appears to be from the Kiwee toolbar, which
isn't too difficult to obtain as they give you the option to install it when downloading
winks, emoticons, and so on.

Unfortunately I don't have a time for a cleaner solution at the moment, but at the least, the
following link should provide instructions to remove help you remove it:

get 'revo free uninstaller' and uninstall all, including dependencies

open the browser and disable the kiwee toolbar

with the help of 'hijackthis' remove all suspected files

get 'unlocker removal tool'

go in safe mode, and use unlocker to delete the kiwee folder in Program Files

RE: Windows Live Messenger Loading Problem

This pest of a thing, I removed it by taking sugestion from this site, by
starting the pc in safe mode, then deleting the kiwee toolbar from desktop
and programs, went straight to the rubbish, although the icon is still there
in control panel after restarting, but now can log on to msn messenger, and
the program toolbar is gone. Great.
