Vista - Error Code Ox8000FFFF - Catastrophic Failure

When trying to load MSN Messenger on to my new computer, pre loaded with Vista Home Premium, I get the above error message. Can someone please help (with simple istructions if possible) so that my wife can get back to talking to family overseas. She is nagging like mad!!

install linked on the Microsoft website:
