contacts who are not direct contacts sending messages on msn

I used a pc of a friend of mine the other day, and he was logged on to msn
messenger when I was about to log him off. Then he suddenly got a direct
message, which was from a contact he never added. I thought that was funny,
because it was indeed a direct message, but after the persons nick-name it
said "not direct contact". How is that possible?

Re: contacts who are not direct contacts sending messages on msn

Greetings Juli,

Messenger actually does allow this if you set it up to do so. If he wants to block this from
happening, all you have to do is press the Alt key on the keyboard, choose the Tools menu,
then Options, then Privacy category choose 'All others' on the Allow list and then choose the
Block >> button.
