WLM9 cannot login and no prompt

I've suffering from this problem since WLM9 beta, which the wlm never let me
    login and no error prompt.
Tried downgrade to 8.5 and able to login, upgrade to wlm9 and cannot again

After enabling the logging function, i found the following lines which
    should be the problem root.

    [00:43:05.49] 09f0 Messenger: Zone_Net Logon
    Performance report - Time line
    [00:43:05.49] 09f0 Messenger: Zone_Net Contacts
    Loaded: -47477.6306 sec
    [00:43:05.49] 09f0 Messenger: Zone_Net Logon
    Performance report - Elapsed Time
    [00:43:05.49] 09f0 Messenger: Zone_Net Contact
    Load: 0.0000 sec
    [00:43:05.49] 09f0 Messenger: Zone_Net WAB
    Collection: 0.0000 sec
    [00:43:05.49] 09f0 Messenger: Zone_Net WAB
Contact Creation: 0.0000 sec (0 contacts)
    [00:43:05.49] 09f0 Messenger: Zone_Net
LMCDATA Contact Create: 0.0000 sec (0 contacts)
    [00:43:07.98] 093c Messenger:Zone_Contact_Platform_Errors
    Contacts store failure, forcing Logoff.

Do anyone have idea on what I can do on my wlm9? or I must downgrade back to
    wlm8.5 again?

    Thanks

    Hi,

Well like it says, the contact store seems to be failing. As a starting point, you might
want to just delete or rename the Windows Live Contacts folder (it's just a cache anyway of
what's on the server) in your profile.

On XP you can find this folder at:
    \Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft

On Vista, you'll find it at:
    \Users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft

Where username is your Windows username. Additionally, some of these folders will be hidden
by default, to see them simply press the
Alt key on the keyboard in any Windows Explorer window to bring up the toolbar, click Tools,
then Folder Options, then the View tab, and then choose 'Show hidden files and folders'.
After click OK, they should appear with the other folders.

If that doesn't help, double-check that you have the current version of the Windows Live
Communications Platform installed. If you installed normally from the Microsoft website and
used their installer, it should be installed properly already however. You can do so by just
    running the following MSI file:

Thanks for your reply although it does not work on my case.

Just found I've forgotten to post my PC spec for your reference.
    - XP SP3. Performed microsoft update
    - Installed IE7
    - Installed .NET 1.1, 2.0 sp1, 3.0 sp1
    - Installed VC++ 2005 redistribute, VC++ 2008 redistribute
    - Installed XML4.0 sp2, 6.0 parser

The case happen on any login in my PC, no matter the liveID is new
registered with no contact or not.

Re: WLM9 cannot login and no prompt

I've got exactly the same problem but with the Prouduction verson of WLM 2009.

I've tried removing contact folders several times but nothing changes. I
haven't tried downgrading to 8.5 yet, but that will be my next step.

So if anyone has any ideas they'll be gratefully received.

    I'm running XP SP2, IE 6.

    Thanks,

    Steve

Re: WLM9 cannot login and no prompt

A solution that worked for me in this blog: Siderius's Musings: Windows Live Messenger Sign in Fails but no Error Message

    Simple and definitive.

Nice one. Got the issue on Vista / WLM9. Couldn't login for one week with
error 80320003. This error code didn't help. Activated the traces, found
messages around the error code. Googled Zone_Contact_Platform_Errors, found
this thread. Deleted the Windows Live Contacts folder.

    It worked !

    Thanks.

    What about documenting 80320003 ?
