| | (OT) Ping Jonathan Kay Hello Jonathan.... I have a question that is (OT) but you would know... Its about windows7 beta testing... first of all, are you a beta tester? And then how do I become one... there is nothing on the microsoft connect site about this... I phoned microsoft at my location and they said they would have to look into it and email me.. lol it seems Im the only one who called them here... So what is going on about this? I want to become an official beta tester.. not downloading a public beta along with the masses... I need this for various articles blogs, tutorials, help guides and perhaps a book I am thinking of writing.. I need have the info first !!! I thought you should know whats going on with this.. I know there are some beta testers already.. HOW did they become a beta tester? I can provide fantastic feedback for win7! thanks! |

| | Re: (OT) Ping Jonathan Kay Greetings CBoom, Well, I won't tell you I'm not a tester ![]() I can tell you the private beta is closed to new testers at this time though. Note that the actual private beta itself hasn't even started yet (although to be fair, it might have by the time you read this post). The vast majority of people who have the latest 7 builds have downloaded it from a torrent site. However, as you already know, there is still the public beta. When that will be happening is unsure, but I personal suspect it might be after Ballmer's keynote at CES this week. In the past, some of the public beta people have been migrated into the private beta, so that might be a way in but that would be later on in the beta process. In actuality, assuming 7 meets the suspected release times, it will actually be quiet a short Windows beta; at least in comparison to some of the others that have gone on. -- Jonathan Kay Microsoft MVP - Windows Live Messenger MSN Messenger/Windows Messenger MessengerGeek Blog: http://www.messengergeek.com Messenger Resources: http://messenger.jonathankay.com (c) 2009 Jonathan Kay - If redistributing, you must include this signature or citation -- "CBoom" <someone@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:gjt4e2$qpd$1@xxxxxx Quote: > Hello Jonathan.... > > I have a question that is (OT) but you would know... > > Its about windows7 beta testing... > > first of all, are you a beta tester? > > And then how do I become one... there is nothing on the microsoft connect site about > this... > > I phoned microsoft at my location and they said they would have to look into it and email > me.. lol it seems Im the only one who called them here... > > So what is going on about this?
