| Windows Multiple | Re: WLM 9 - Video kaput 'We are unable to run audio & video setup' mes Many people are reporting this problem. Backing out to WLM2008 fixes the problem in each instance. I would suggest you simply downgrade until Microsoft solves the problem. |

| | Re: WLM 9 - Video kaput 'We are unable to run audio & video setup' I have posted this problem in another thread. I am running a Creative Webcam NX Pro. When I go to the audio/video set up, my cam is recognized and seems to work fine WLM 2009. When I want to have a video chat that is the problematic part. I have made certain that I have the latest driver from Creative and the cam works fine with other internet chat programs, like AIM, Yahoo Messenger and Skype. When I first installed WLM 2009 it worked good too. It started to not work at all after installed and then uninstalled IE8 (I did ot want to use the program because of the security features that are difficult to disable, and Google classifies all hits as being dangerous???). Is my problem due to the IE8 issue, or something else? I will try to uninstall and then reinstall and if that is not a solution, then I will find WLM 8 2008 and try that. Thanks for any help! | | RE: WLM 9 - Video kaput 'We are unable to run audio & video setup' mes Hi Mike... Problem was found to be McAfee Site Advisor To workaround please follow this Solution; As a workaround, McAfee recommends configuring SiteAdvisor to stop monitoring Live Messenger. Navigate to the following folder: Windows XP/2000/Vista (32-bit): C:\Program Files\McAfee\SiteAdvisor Windows Vista (64-bit): C:\Program Files (x86)\McAfee\SiteAdvisor Right-click on the file sasets.ini and choose Open With, then select Notepad. Locate the section titled [msnmsgr.exe]. Change Enabled=1 to Enabled=0. Click File and select Save. Close sasets.ini and restart your computer for changes to take effect. | | Re: WLM 9 - Video kaput 'We are unable to run audio & video setup' Yes there is really problem with the audio video feature, I tried to get answers eslewhere but was unsucessful. So I'm back to my old version 8.5. it works fine and there is also skype. Though it would be nice to be able to use that cool version. Any solution I would really love to know. | | Spark's solution worked for me Spark's February 10, 2009 Post is probably the solution everyone's looking for. It worked for me, and points the blame at McAfee. Here's Spark's solution - WTG Spark! | | RE: WLM 9 - Video kaput 'We are unable to run audio & video setup' mes I just upgraded from WLM2008 to 2009 and have the same problem. Am using a Microsoft LifeCam, so thought compatability would not be an issue. Tried reinstalling the LifeCam software, but still get the "We are unable to run audio and video setup" error in WLM209.
