| | The new messenger. A cruel joke ? Who designed the layout and look of the new messenger ? A bunch drunk cartoonist ? It's back to version 8.5 for me..yuck ! And if the look and layout doesn't change I'm not budging. Not even if Microsoft disables version 8.5 in some fashion ! If they somehow disable it, I I'm done. It's pitiful, it's horrid ! |

| | Re: The new messenger. A cruel joke ? Greetings BAM, Microsoft doesn't disable older clients unless they're deemed a security risk, so 8.5 will be fine for the foreseeable future. You may however, get some upgrade notifications when you sign in. -- Jonathan Kay Microsoft MVP - Windows Live Messenger MSN Messenger/Windows Messenger MessengerGeek Blog: http://www.messengergeek.com Messenger Resources: http://messenger.jonathankay.com (c) 2009 Jonathan Kay - If redistributing, you must include this signature or citation -- "BAM" <bambam@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:OBtUuXdcJHA.1336@xxxxxx Quote: > Who designed the layout and look of the new messenger ? | Vista Home Premium SP2 32bit, Windows 7 Beta 1, Windows XP SP3 | Re: The new messenger. A cruel joke ? New MSN doesn't have anything bad, they really needed some image change, old one was getting crap and for you answer, if you don't like it don't use it and don't nag about it... and probably soon MSN+ will be out that allows you skinning again. |

| | Re: The new messenger. A cruel joke ? Hi Jonathan, Today I received a Hotmail message saying "Get the new messenger!" At least this one didn't install itself on top of the Beta like last time - but having not been told that Beta's over with, how is one to find out whether to pay attention to this? | | Re: The new messenger. A cruel joke ? Hi, To be fair, they only really market the official versions via e-mail (to the best of my knowledge anyway). I think the only way anyone would really know what they're getting is to check places like this or other Messenger-related sites. -- Jonathan Kay Microsoft MVP - Windows Live Messenger MSN Messenger/Windows Messenger MessengerGeek Blog: http://www.messengergeek.com Messenger Resources: http://messenger.jonathankay.com (c) 2009 Jonathan Kay - If redistributing, you must include this signature or citation -- ""Rev" Norle Enturbulata, OD, DTS" <notearthlight2k@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:gkaa53$heh$1@xxxxxx Quote: > Hi Jonathan, > > Today I received a Hotmail message saying "Get the new messenger!" > > At least this one didn't install itself on top of the Beta like last time - but having not > been told that Beta's over with, how is one to find out whether to pay attention to this? > > "Jonathan Kay [MVP]" <msnewsreplies@xxxxxx> wrote in message > news:%23$frhShcJHA.1532@xxxxxx Quote: >> Greetings BAM, >> >> Microsoft doesn't disable older clients unless they're deemed a security risk, so 8.5 will >> be fine for the foreseeable future. >> >> You may however, get some upgrade notifications when you sign in. >> >> -- >> Jonathan Kay >> Microsoft MVP - Windows Live Messenger >> MSN Messenger/Windows Messenger >> MessengerGeek Blog: http://www.messengergeek.com >> Messenger Resources: http://messenger.jonathankay.com >> (c) 2009 Jonathan Kay - If redistributing, you must include this signature or citation >> -- >> >> "BAM" <bambam@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:OBtUuXdcJHA.1336@xxxxxx Quote: >>> Who designed the layout and look of the new messenger ?
