Vista - error 80072efd

Hi, I just updated my windows live messenger and I keep getting this error
message. I looked through some of the previous postings however most of the
people with this problem seem to have windows vista, I am still running on XP.

Any suggestions on how to fix the problem? I really need to be able to use
my windows live messenger to web call someone today, it's important

Hi, I have the same problem of the error code 80072efd im running windows vista but i guess it has nothing to do if you have windows vista or xp; however i ve tryed many possible solutions but they dont work. My computer had a virus and i took it to Office Depot since then i have the problem of my msn. One of the options i ve tryed is:

1. Click start, then click 'RUN', type

%windir%\system32\regsvr325\system32\msxml3.dll

after you have typed in this command Click OK.

2. Click OK again.

3. Try to sign in to MSN Messenger again.
this should resolve the issue..

but it didnt work i still have the same problem my computer couldn t find the file or program i dont know what it is but it couldnt run.

when i try troubleshooting the problem it says that the problem is the Keyports and hosts file. I also tryed a possible solution that has worked for some people which is not my case unfortunately, i downloaded Reg Cure and Ccleaner they only helped me notice that my computer had some errors that i could fix with those programs but they didnt fix the problem of the msn. So if someone knows the solution please help ill appreciate it
