| | 80072ee7 From Hibernation Typically when my computer comes out of the Hibernate state, I get the error: "We can't sign you in to Windows Live Messenger Your contact list is not available right now, please try again later. Error code: 80072ee7" It is not a firewall issue because I even tried signing in with the firewall turned off temporarily. I ran the Connection Troubleshooter in Messenger and have created a log from Messenger Connection Logging. I've done a repair on my network adapter (ipconfig release renew and flushdns). My router has UPNP enabled and I even tried setting my computer for DMZ. I have no other internet related issues (browser, mail, live mesh...). The only "solution" is to restart my computer. | | RE: 80072ee7 From Hibernation Update: This error may just be occuring from Sleep state. I put my computer to sleep for 5 hours and the issue cropped up when it came out of Sleep. I assumed Hibernation was the only scenario, but it automatically goes from Sleep to Hibernate after 9 hours and I hadn't notice it happen after Sleep. Here are steps from the Messenger Support blog related to the issue but did NOT fix my problem: http://messenger-support.spaces.live...3F!13933.entry Nathan "Nathan" wrote: Quote: > Typically when my computer comes out of the Hibernate state, I get the error: > "We can't sign you in to Windows Live Messenger > Your contact list is not available right now, please try again later. > Error code: 80072ee7" > > It is not a firewall issue because I even tried signing in with the firewall > turned off temporarily. > I ran the Connection Troubleshooter in Messenger and have created a log from > Messenger Connection Logging. > I've done a repair on my network adapter (ipconfig release renew and > flushdns). > My router has UPNP enabled and I even tried setting my computer for DMZ. > I have no other internet related issues (browser, mail, live mesh...). > > The only "solution" is to restart my computer. > Vista SP1 x64 |

| | RE: 80072ee7 From Hibernation I had the same problem so I contacted MS about it. their answer - reinstall WLM. Utter garbage! You can find better support with a quick search on Google than you can expect from MS. It's clearly happening to a lot of people, but they acted as if it was the first time they'd heard of the problem. Anyway, you can try switching users or log off and log on rather than a full re-boot, which I have found fixes the issue too. |
