| | Search Enhancement Folder - Mr. Jonathan Kay Hello there Mr. Jonathan Kay...I have a question for you specifically. I helped someone download Windows Live Messenger 2009 (updating their 2008 installation) with no other live services selected besides Messenger. It seemed to work fine except they had the "Search Enhancement Folder" open inside an explorer window everytime they started their computer or used fast user switching to switch users. I google searched it, and found a reply by you to someone in the vista forums which said the following: "Greetings, Weird -- the Search Enhancement Pack is part of the Live toolbar, not Messenger. You can try removing the Pack itself by click Start, then Run, entering the following: msiexec /x {299CF645-48C7-4FA1-8BCD-5CE200CF180D} and clicking OK. -- Jonathan Kay Microsoft MVP - Windows Live Messenger MSN Messenger/Windows Messenger MessengerGeek Blog: http://www.messengergeek.com Messenger Resources: http://messenger.jonathankay.com (c) 2008 Jonathan Kay - If redistributing, you must include this signature or citation --" I copied your above line, and put it in the run command, but I only got the "can not uninstall a program that's not installed" message (I forgot the exact wording). After restarting, the problem persisted. What exactly is that line above supposed to do? I was finally able to get it from coming up....I uninstalled the windows live upload tool, and sign-in assistant, and deleted the search enhancement folder from the registry and from right clicking on start and exploring all users and that fixed it. |

| | RE: Search Enhancement Folder - Mr. Jonathan Kay Oh, yeah, forgot to mention...the person's computer has Windows XP SP3 on it. And, it didn't happen when I installed WLM 2009 on my laptop that also has Windows XP SP3. "thebigdintexas" wrote: Quote: > Hello there Mr. Jonathan Kay...I have a question for you specifically.
