Webcam Flipping Issue - WLM 2009 Beta

Simple. I go to initiate a webcam session with a buddy, and when my image is
correctly oriented, my buddy sees my image backwards, and when my image is
backwards, my buddy sees me correctly. Is this a bug in WLM 2009 Beta?

Just for note: AOL Messenger has the same issue, but they (AOL) won't fix it.

Any problems caused by software made by leading manufacturers is always the
users fault, never the manufacturer. That's the real world of computer
software manufacturers, deal with it.

Re: Webcam Flipping Issue - WLM 2009 Beta

Sounds more like an issue with your webcam drivers, if the issue is
happening in both AOLMessenger and Windows Live Messenger.

I'd check your webcam driver properties in device manager to see if there's
any options to flip the image, and barring that, go to your webcam
manufacturer's website to see if there are updated drivers.

Re: Webcam Flipping Issue - WLM 2009 Beta

Funny you should suggest that, cause I am not the only one having the issue
in AIM and it is well documented over there, but AOL just cant seem to come
up with a solution. It is a Labtec/Logitech, and there have been reports of
issues with their cams and messengers

webcam flipping issues followup

Also, the issue not only affects my physical webcam, but my other two virtual
cams as well, and also my friend over on aol messenger has the same issue but
thats their software issue. This should be fixed before 2009 goes final and
MS needs to stop saying its user fault.

Hi Larry,

For the record, 2009 went final a few weeks ago.

Re: webcam flipping issues followup

Guess we can forget about it being fixed then. Once again, user fault, not
service fault
