| Windows XP Professional | Webcam size options Maybe I'm missing something obvious but in previous versions of messenger the webcam sizing options included a large size which displayed the cam in a 320x240 window. I've upgraded to version 9 and the only options I can find for the cam size are medium. Has the Large option been removed or am I doing something silly?? |

| | Re: Webcam size options Greetings, The settings are identical, although there have been further problems with the video function so it's possible this has been broken. Is this using the 'Share/Send My Webcam" or the "Video Call" function (they aren't the same). If you're using one, try the other and see what you get. Also, it would be helpful to know what webcam you're using. -- Jonathan Kay Microsoft MVP - Windows Live Messenger MSN Messenger/Windows Messenger MessengerGeek Blog: http://www.messengergeek.com Messenger Resources: http://messenger.jonathankay.com (c) 2009 Jonathan Kay - If redistributing, you must include this signature or citation -- "daemonic" <guest@xxxxxx-email.com> wrote in message news:8fe5e60c51ad6bd5a8ec8a98e4404e5a@xxxxxx-gateway.com... | Windows XP Professional | Re: Webcam size options Thanks for the reply. This was using the Video Call function. I tested it with a couple of friends both of whom are still on WLM 8.5 and they could see my cam image as 'large', I just didn't have the option to view their cam in 'large mode'. My cam is an ancient (came free with a PC I got around 1999/2000) Intel webcam. I can check the exact model if you think its cam related but as my cam appears to broadcast fine and I didn't even have the 'large' option for 2 different cams (one a new'ish Sony, the other a logitech thats a few years old) that were sending video to me it seems unlikely its hardware. I'll try the 'send cam' option to see if it makes a difference. Also noticed I'm not the only one seeing the same problem - http://www.vistax64.com/live-messenger/205387-web-cam-wlm-2009-a.html Greetings, The settings are identical, although there have been further problems with the video function so it's possible this has been broken. | | Re: Webcam size options Hi Daemonic, Amusingly, I use one of the those Intel cams myself (CS430 to be precise) and don't have this problem. Using my other PC which has a Logitech Communicate STX I have the Large size without any issue. Thanks for the attention to the other thread, it certainly sounds like yet another video problem in 2009... -- Jonathan Kay Microsoft MVP - Windows Live Messenger MSN Messenger/Windows Messenger MessengerGeek Blog: http://www.messengergeek.com Messenger Resources: http://messenger.jonathankay.com (c) 2009 Jonathan Kay - If redistributing, you must include this signature or citation -- "daemonic" <guest@xxxxxx-email.com> wrote in message news:e8a249e01692bb3e24fcbe8dbde5a804@xxxxxx-gateway.com... | Windows XP Professional | Re: Webcam size options Jonathan Thanks for the reply. The model I use is a CS330 so not too distant from the model you have. From the thread I linked previously, that user is on Windows XP and so am I? Could it be a Windows XP problem?
