| | Hotmail Subscription I have been receiving suspicious email in my Windows Live Hotmail inbox, that states that if I don't give personal information, my Windows Live Hotmail account will be closed permanently. These emails look credible, but I still don't trust them, and need to know what is going on. I have had this account for many years. Nothing has changed, and I have abided by the rules. What should I do? -- Terry |

Never give out account information that is requested via e-mail. -- ©LarryEº "Terry" <Terry@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:148735AB-868F-4C5B-B1C1-623A74D51A7C@xxxxxx Quote: > I have been receiving suspicious email in my Windows Live Hotmail inbox, > that > states that if I don't give personal information, my Windows Live Hotmail > account will be closed permanently. | | Re: Hotmail Subscription I figured as much, because I deleted the first one of these "Official" looking emails, but then when I received another one, I thought it might be true. The graphics and the text looked so real, and there wasn't a way to actually get a reasonable answer to my quiries from WIndows Live Technicians, I wanted to make sure. The warning said I had 24 hours and the plug would be pulled. Others might get scooped up into this scam also, and who knows what the results might be. Let those that care read this and learn. -- Terry "©LarryEº" wrote: Quote: > They are scams. Just delete them. Let those that care read this and learn. actual source of the email. Most likely some residential ISP customer whose computer was afflicted with malware. But, unless you are curious about email sources, or planning to report the email as abuse to the relevant ISP, better is to discard such email. -- Norman ~Oh Lord, why have you come ~To Konnyu, with the Lion and the Drum |
