Secure to log into WLM on public hotspot Wi-fi

Curious if anyone knows whether it's safe to log into WLM (latest
version) while using public wi-fi at a free hotspot? It would be
unfortunate if someone could grab the sign-on and password.

From reading past posts, it's pretty clear that the text transferred
in conversations of WLM are not encrypted. But what about the sign
on?

Thanks!

Re: Secure to log into WLM on public hotspot Wi-fi

Greetings md,

The sign in on Messenger uses normal web-based SSL, so it is in fact encrypted and not sent
in the clear. Whether or not you consider normal 128-bit SSL to be safe is a matter of
opinion
