Vista - Can't uninstall Messenger

I downloaded Live Messenger 2009 and when I installed it kept getting an error code, i checked it out on the microsoft website and followed all the steps but to no avail. So i decided to revert back to the old Live Messenger, I "uninstalled" Live Messenger from the Add or Remove Programs in my control panel and used Rexo Uninstaller to delete the registry files for Live Messenger yet still when i go to reinstall Live it says i have it installed. Am starting to go mad i think as i don't know what else to do , does anyone have any advice ?

Messenger:
