contacts appear offline

Hi - I have two messenger accounts... one is fine but I don't use it much.
Two is from my original hotmail account. I had the contacts from One add me
to Two as a separate contact. Everything was going fine for a while but now
for 9 days no contact has been online! One of them is my brother so I know
that I am not coincidentally blocked by all those accounts. Secondly, I
added a new contact on Two and he does appear online and we communicate
normally. Thirdly, a contact that I blocked and deleted on Two has
reappeared. He does not appear online but I know he has me blocked. I had
clicked on remove him from my contacts as well as blocked him and the next
day his email showed up on my list again. I removed MSN and actually
installed 2009 but it doesn't work on my machine for some reason (it thinks I
am not connected to the net - I use a Blackberry tether). So I reinstalled
8.5.something and I still have the same problem. Account One appears to be
fine and Account Two is still messed up. Can someone help me with this? Is
it a bug? A virus? I ran a Malwarebytes full scan and it only found one
adware that I subsequently removed but the problem persists.

RE: contacts appear offline

i had this problem too, and after maybe half a dozen emails to the customer
support i was still no better off, they ended up telling me it was because my
contacts werent added to my list???
i tried uninstalling and reinstalling about 5 times but that didn't achieve
anything either, so in desparation, i deleted all my contacts, then cleared
all my cookies etc and restarted my computer, and then imported my contact
list - and suddenly my yahoo contacts started to show up, they all got re-add
me notices.. and as they added me again they showed up... hope that helps
