Vista - msn error code 80040154

when i try sign into messenger it says service is temporarily unavilable and
give me error code 80040154, this has been happening for 3 days, i have
reinsatlled and updated messenger but it still gives the same error code.
any ideas?

Although this could be caused by a variety of things (it's trying to access a control which
isn't registered), generally the control that's not registered correctly is the Microsoft XML
parser.

Cause: MSXML library may be corrupted and may have to be reinstalled

Troubleshooting steps:

Step 1. Re-register msxml3.dll

- Click on the Start menu, select Run and type the following:
Regsvr32 %windir%\system32\msxml3.dll

Hopefully, you will see a window popup that says: DllRegisterServer
succeeded in C:\Windows\System32\msxml3.dll is succeeded.

Step 2. Restart your computer and sign into Messenger again

if it registers with success and you still get the error number then

i've done this and have the same error code, and yet nothing? any idea's would be appreciated, i have just fixed the problem of 'windows live communications platform stopped working' by running a repair programme after trying numerous thing, simple repair programme!
