Windows Live Messenger 2009 mirrored video problem

OS: Windows XP Pro SP3 (x86)
APP: Windows Live Messenger 2009 (14.0.8050.1202)
DRV: Logitech QuickCam 11.90.1263.0

During Webcam or VideoCall the video is displayed mirrored locally, NOT sent
mirrored, and is NOT displayed mirrored during the "Audio and Video setup..."
applet in WLM2K9

this does NOT happen in other programs (Yahoo, Skype, AIM), only in WLM2K9

in WLM2K8 you could go Tools -> Webcam settings and checkmark/uncheckmark
the mirroring option...

Re: Windows Live Messenger 2009 mirrored video problem

Greetings John,

Yes this is "by design"; in other words, intentional.

Unfortunately I don't know any way to turn it off (and I've tried). Even if you make the
same registry entry that the previous version made when selecting the mirroring option, it
doesn't even read it - so it's been removed from the code.
