| | Re: Webcam problems WLM 9 Final Greetings Wim, There was a new version of Messenger released on Friday, which supposedly should have some fixes for these webcam issues. You both should upgrade to the latest version to see if that helps at all: http://download.live.com Also, what happens when you go through the Audio and video setup wizard? You can get to that by opening any Messenger window, pressing the Alt key on the keyboard, and choosing Audio and video setup (not sure what the wording is in Dutch, sorry). -- Jonathan Kay Microsoft MVP - Windows Live Messenger MSN Messenger/Windows Messenger MessengerGeek Blog: http://www.messengergeek.com Messenger Resources: http://messenger.jonathankay.com (c) 2009 Jonathan Kay - If redistributing, you must include this signature or citation -- "Billies" <Billies@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:52D9C844-8A91-41AF-8368-68B88BD42087@xxxxxx Quote: > I have downloaded the newest driver for my webcam. | | Re: Webcam problems WLM 9 Final Hi Wim, The "tester" in the wizard is actually separate from the actual video feature in Messenger, so that's why it's not always a good determiner. Also, what video capabilities are going to take place are dependent on what client your contact is using. Do you happen to know what version of Messenger they're using as well? One thing you could try is to use a Virtual Webcam, which can connect up to your existing webcam and works through it (you can also get some different effects by doing this). One free example is ManyCam (www.manycam.com). -- Jonathan Kay Microsoft MVP - Windows Live Messenger MSN Messenger/Windows Messenger MessengerGeek Blog: http://www.messengergeek.com Messenger Resources: http://messenger.jonathankay.com (c) 2009 Jonathan Kay - If redistributing, you must include this signature or citation -- "Billies" <Billies@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:06F04BF2-76AA-4CBD-8FF3-907DB1CD39E8@xxxxxx Quote: > Ik have installed teh versio of Windows Live Messenger, version 2009, build > 14.0.8064.206. | | Re: Webcam problems WLM 9 Final Jonathan, The point is that the latest version of Live Messenger broke Video calls for many people. There is a blog-post for this issue saying that it is a problem caused by McAfee software and there is a solution for it. Most people that experience this problem are not using any McAfee software though. See this post: http://windowslivewire.spaces.live.c...ry?_c=BlogPart I reverted back to version 8.x (not sure which version) and got my cam back to work. | | Re: Webcam problems WLM 9 Final I'm having the same problem. Additionally, I no longer have the option to start my webcam WITHOUT voice (i.e., just video) after installing build 14.0.8064.206 yesterday! This is NOT a McAfee problem because I don't have McAfee installed. Everything worked perfectly before the new WLM9 install. | | Re: Webcam problems WLM 9 Final Greetings, ffdshow-tryout yes? It shouldn't really be a problem for Messenger, but it might be the specific version you're using which has the problem. Alternatively you can go into the ffdshow preferences, and set msnmsgr.exe not to use ffdshow.
