Windows Live Messenger 2009 Has error and "send error report"

Hi,
Every time I log into the most current version of WLM it only stays on for a
few seconds then this pops up:

"Windows Live Communications Platform has encountered a problem and needs to
close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

I use Windows XP Home Edition and I have no firewall on. I also have tried
uninstalling the program and reinstalling it again but still no luck. Please
help!!!

Thanks

Re: here's some more information if anyone can help

Greetings Hillary,

This nmdfgds0.dll file referenced here is known to be part of spyware/malware. You may want
to run some known anti-spyware utilities to clean this and possibly other things off your
system.

For example, Windows Defender:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/pro...r/default.mspx

or MalwareBytes:
http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php
