| | Mail app use by WLM2009 After installing the current version of WLM2009 I recognized, that the default messaging app, like OL2007, is not used anymore when trying to send a message to a messenger contact, but the WLM Mail apps. This is not a good feature, as for MAPI users which use OL, and may be have not be able to access their mailbox via POP/IMAP/SMTP, are lost. This needs to be changed to use the default messaging app. Has anybody made some experiences on this? Regards, Tom |

| | Re: Mail app use by WLM2009 Greetings Tom, The mail functionality in Messenger hasn't changed in 2009, why you're probably seeing a different is depending on what type of Windows Live ID you're using. Here's the breakdown - If you're using a @hotmail.com, @msn.com, @live.com, or other domain that works on Windows Live Hotmail, it will open up a browser window to Windows Live Hotmail. If you're using Internet Explorer, it will even log you in. The exception to this, is if you have Windows Live Mail (the client) set up to sign in to the same Windows Live Hotmail address, in which case Messenger will use that instead. If you're using any other domain as a Live ID, Messenger will open the default mail client registered on the system. -- Jonathan Kay Microsoft MVP - Windows Live Messenger MSN Messenger/Windows Messenger MessengerGeek Blog: http://www.messengergeek.com Messenger Resources: http://messenger.jonathankay.com (c) 2009 Jonathan Kay - If redistributing, you must include this signature or citation -- "Thomas K.H.
