| | Re: messages delayed Greetings, Just to clarify, do you mean all messages or just the initial message when you start a conversation? The latter is known and expected but otherwise it should be relatively instant. However, Messenger supports two different modes of operation. One of these is called HTTP mode which works much diffidently than the normal mode, especially in how it checks for messages and you might see this few seconds delay behavior. You can check to see if you've been pushed into this mode by opening any Messenger window, pressing the Alt key on the keyboard to open up the menu bar, choosing Tools, then Options, then the Connection category. After a few more seconds to allow it to collect the data, it should should whether you are in HTTP mode or direct mode. -- Jonathan Kay Microsoft MVP - Windows Live Messenger MSN Messenger/Windows Messenger MessengerGeek Blog: http://www.messengergeek.com Messenger Resources: http://messenger.jonathankay.com (c) 2009 Jonathan Kay - If redistributing, you must include this signature or citation -- "Rage Skywolfe" <RageSkywolfe@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:0934CE68-F28F-4A11-8925-6706A1084C78@xxxxxx Quote: > I am having a problem with my messages being delayed for a few seconds where > as they are usually delivered right away. is this a glitch or is it > something else because I know others are having that same problem. |
