| Vista Home Premium 32bit | Live Messenger 2009 suddenly hanging on sign in Hi, I run WLM Version 2009 Build 14.0.8064.206 on an HP laptop under Vista Home Premium 32 bit. It's been running fine up until about an hour ago when I rebooted my system. Now when I try to log in, WLM hangs on the Signing In screen and the buddies spin forever ... I don't get any kind of error message. I can log in fine to the same account on another PC and on webmessenger, so I guess it's something specific to this laptop rather than the account. I went to Choose your version of Windows Live Messenger or MSN Messenger and have deleted my contacts cache as explained there and also reregistered Msxml3.dll. I still have exactly the same problem. I see there is a registry fix posted here Re: Help, cannot sign in, fixes aren't working. but the post is dated 2008 and I'm not sure if it's still valid. Many thanks Isobel |
